TO USA:

These scooters are over 60 years old (1960s models) and, as such, they are exempt from duty taxes.

1. Arrival Notification: Once your scooter arrives at the Long Beach, CA Port (or any other U.S. port), the shipping company will send you an official “Arrival Notice” notifying you of your crate's arrival. This notice will also provide the timeframe (usually around 10 days) within which you need to pick up your scooter.

2. Picking Up Your Scooter:

   • Take the documents you received to the 8th floor of the office building at 301 E Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA (there is ample parking).

   • Upon exiting the elevator, proceed to the "Informal Arrival" counter where they will "clear" your crate and stamp your documents.

   • After this, you will need to take your stamped documents to the nearby warehouse, which is about three miles away.

   • At the warehouse, you will need to present your paperwork (including a copy of the payment receipt to the freight company, if necessary). The staff will assist you in loading the crate into your vehicle. There is a loading fee of approximately $35. If you prefer, you may arrange to load the crate yourself, in which case the loading fee may be waived.

   • If you are unable to pick up the crate yourself, you can arrange for a broker to handle the process on your behalf, including freight forwarding to your address.

3. Important Notes:

   • Customs Clearance: If you prefer to have an agent handle the customs clearance for you, contact the local warehouse. The staff there will recommend an agent, and there will be a fee for this service. Once the agent completes the clearance, you can simply pick up the scooter with your truck.

   • Pickup Timeline: You have 5 days to complete the pickup process. Delays beyond this period may incur additional fees, so we recommend picking up your scooter on time. Additional fees may include handling charges, destination charges, and any required inspections by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) before you can proceed with DMV titling.

TO UK:

Importing a scooter into the UK is straightforward. Historic vehicles are exempt from duty taxes and subject to 5% VAT. It is essential to declare the vehicle as a historic vehicle to avoid higher rates. To complete the registration process at the DVLC, you will need a VAT receipt from Customs.

TO AUSTRALIA:

Before the scooter arrives in Australia, you must apply for an import permit. Please ensure that you submit the required documents we send you, as failure to do so may result in fines. You can download the application form here. Although two-wheeled vehicles are not explicitly mentioned in the legislation, they are generally included under the import regulations.
 

TO CANADA:

There are no significant issues with importing scooters into Canada. However, we recommend ensuring that you obtain Form 1 from Customs, as this form is required when registering the scooter with the local authorities.

TO NORWAY:

If the vehicle is older than 30 years, it qualifies for importation under the classic vehicle category, meaning it is exempt from duties and taxes.
 

Other Countries:

You may pay some duty tax on your scooter such as 12% for New Zealand….  Please check your country regulation before ordering. Japan, need to pay some VAT tax.. around 10% of invoice value.. Shipping is real cheap though.

• Destination Port Fees: These fees are collected by the destination port authorities, not by us. We do not collect these charges in advance, and they will need to be paid directly to your local port.

• Total Estimated Fees: The total shipping fee covers all costs from the Vietnam port to your chosen international major sea port. After the fees are paid, you will be able to pick up your scooter at the port and transport it to your home via truck.
